Overview
Each March residents of the Khuvsgul Lake area celebrate the Festival of Ice. The festival involves a great variety of activities and competitions, including Ice Sumo, ger building with ice, ice skating and sleigh rides, all on or by the shores of the beautiful Lake Khuvsgul. This two-day event is also a shamanist ceremony of offering and provides a fascinating insight into the Tsaatan people's way of life.
Itinerary
Day 1 Visit in Ulaanbaatar
Arrival at the airport, meeting with our driver. Transfer to hotel, settling in, and rest. Will take you in the restaurant of your choice. Let’s immerse ourselves in the heart of the Mongolian history, in the wonderful national history museum. Discovery of Chinggis khan square and the House of Parliament. Overnight we will stay in Hotel. B/L/D
Day 2 Flight to Murun
After breakfast on the second day we are planned to fly Murun, center of “Khuvsgul” province and transfer to Khuvsgul lake. We will continue our picturesque journey drive to Lake Khuvsgul, the second largest freshwater lake in Central Asia with over one percent of the world’s freshwater and a maximum depth of 262m. Overnight will stay with a nomadic family in Ger. B/L/D
Day 3 Enjoy Ice festival
After a relaxing morning breakfast, enjoy the spectacular scenery surrounding Lake Huvsgul in the winter and the event of the Ice Festival, which involve such as: Overnight will stay with a nomadic family in Ger. B/L/D

Day 4 Second day
After an enjoying morning breakfast, begin the second day of the Ice Festival contests, which involve: Enjoy the Winter Photographing at the Khuvsgul lake. Overnight will stay with a nomadic family in ger.B/L/D

Day 5 Back to Ulaanbaatar
After breakfast, we will drive to Ulaanbaatar by pave road. It is total 700km but asphalt road. Simple lunch will be at local restaurant. He will transfer to the hotel. Overnight in hotel. B/L/D
Day 6 Departure
Breakfast at the hotel. We go with you to the international airport of Ulaanbaatar. The transfer can be organized at the time you want, according to the schedule of your flight.
