Overview

This tour takes you through the Great Gobi Desert, exploring some of the most remarkable and untouched parts of the globe. By picking this trip you will witness the central and southern parts of Mongolia which you will explore many natural attractions like Baga Gazriin Chuluu, Yol Valley, Khongor Sand Dunes. You will also able to visit the historical sites such as the Old capital city of Kharakhorin and the largest Buddhist Temple complex called Erdene Zuu and many more other places awaits your arrival.

Itinerary

Day 1 Visit in Ulaanbaatar

Arrival at the airport, meeting with our driver and guide. Transfer to your hotel, settling in and rest. We will take you in the restaurant. Let's immerse ourselves in the heart of the Mongolian history, in the wonderful National History Museum. Three floors of a rich, glorious, violent and noble past, from prehistory to Soviet period, including the creation of the great Mongolian Empire by Genghis Khan. Walk in the centre of Ulan-Bator. Discovery of Gengis Khan Square and the House of Parliament. Then Mongolian traditional show: folkloric dances, contortion, and of course khoomi, the overtone singing. Welcome dinner in Mongolian style restaurant. Overnight in the hotel. B/L/D

Day 2 Travel to Ugii lake

Toady we will drive to Ugii lake (360km about 5-6hours). The lake is located in the centre of Mongolia, and in the territory of Arkhangai province is one of the biggest lakes of Mongolia and has 27 km squire area . Ugii lake abounds in various types of fish and birds, which creates an incredible natural beauty. On the way we will visit to Khar Balgas ruins, was the capital of the first Uyghur Khaganate, built on the site of the former Göktürk imperial capital. Overnight in host ger with local family. B/L/D

Day 3 Travel to Kharkhorin

Drive to Kharkhorin for 2 hours 80 km. Journey to Kharkhorin, the former capital of Mongolia. The legendary city of Genghis Khan was founded in 1220 and was one of the stages of the silk road. Visit of Erdene Zuu Monastery, built in 1586 by a nomad prince. The Chinese and Tibetaninspired buildings are surrounded with 108 sacred stupas. Visit of the Museum of Kharkhorin.  Overnight in guest house in kharkhorin. B/D/L

Day 4 Travel to Tsenkher  (Central  Mongolia )

We will drive to Tsenkher hot springs, where you can lounge in the hot springs (130km for 3-4 hours). The water is at 85,5°C. In a pleasant verdant wooded area, some yurts camps with equipment and baths with a less hot temperature have been set up for the travelers. Tsenkher hot springs have healing properties notably on articular diseases and nervous system’s diseases. Composition: sodium carbonate, hydrocarbonate, sulfate, fluorite, hydrogen sulfide. Overnight in ger camp. B/D/L

Day 5 Tsenkher-Tuvkhun monastery

Today we drive to the Tuvkhun Monastery founded in 1648 /about 80 km 3 hours/. We will either ride or walk through the forest to the Monastery located on top of the Shireet mountain. Behind this temple there is remarkable small cave called ”Uterus of Mother” where people can slip in and slip out.  One has fresh water in it, while the other has slightly brackish water. Overnight in host ger with local family. B/L/D

Day 6 Journey in Orkhon Valley

After breakfast we will drive to the Orkhon Valley (about 45km for 2hours). Inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, the valley is a land of nomadism and many breeders set their summer camp there. Once at the camp, you can do some fishing, rafting, play archery, pétanque, or just relax. Overnight in the ger camp by river Orkhon. B/D/L

Day 7 Visit of Orkhon Waterfall and nomad families

Today we will travel to Ongi temple ruin which will take long distance 300km /7-8hours/. We’ll be leaving the mountain region, zone rich with greenery and enter the steppe and demi desert zone. We will visit the local museum and take a hike around the ruins. The guide will tell you the whole story of the ruins of Ongi Monastery. Overnigth in ger camp. B/L/D


Day 8 Ongi monastery-Orkhon Valley

Today we will travel to Ongi temple ruin which will take long distance 300km /7-8hours/. We’ll be leaving the mountain region, zone rich with greenery and enter the steppe and demi desert zone. We will visit the local museum and take a hike around the ruins. The guide will tell you the whole story of the ruins of Ongi Monastery. Overnigth in ger camp. B/L/D

Day 9 Travel to Bayanzag

Toady we will continue travel to Bayanzag which will take 140km /5hours/. It is a remarkable site of Mongolia where you will able to see a rare saxaul forest, red flaming cliffs and pedestal rocks formed by the Aeolian effects on the sand and rock over millions of years. Visiting a local nomad family conversing about their unique lifestyle of the local area. They’re very hospitable friendly hosts which they will offer a traditional delicacy made of camel’s milk. overnight in host ger with local family. B/L/D

Day 10 Bayanzag-Khongor els

Toady we will travel to Khongor sand dunes which will take 80km for 2hours. Known as Singing sand dunes, the Khongor dunes are up to 300ms high, 18kms wide, and 180kms long. Afternoon we will walk or camel trek through the Golden sand dunes viewing the surrounding area. The view is incredible from top of the dunes. Overnight in ger camp. B/L/D

Day 11 Travel to Yol Valley

We will drive to Yol Valley or Lammergeier Gorge about 180km. The valley itself is over 10kms long and due to the splendid high cliff walls. Some parts of Yol valley are completely shaded from the sun. We will hike along this delightful valley, nestled between the beautiful peaks of the Gurvan Saikhan Mountain and exploring the wildlife of the area. Overnigth in host ger with local family. B/L/D

Day 12 Yol valley-Tsagaan suvraga

We will continue travel to Tsagaan Suvarga (about 220kms for 5-6hours). Tsagaan Suvarga or White Stupa is 30-50 meters high white limestone formation which was created by the power of the winds sculpting this place for over thousands of years. We’ll sight see the surrounding area and hike around the place taking a suitable photo. Overnight in ger camp. B/L/D

Day 13 Travel to Ulaanbaatar

Early moning we will continue travel to direction Ulaanbaatar (long distance about 400kms for 7-8hours). We’ll be leaving the Gobi region and enter the steppe zone rich with greenery compare to the Gobi golden soils. Once at the camp, you can take a rest from this long journey in a comfortable ger camp. Day 14 Genghis Khan statue-Ulaanbaatar

After having breakfast, we will drive to “Genghis Khan Statue Complex” (40km about 2 hours) which is currently the biggest (40m high) equestrian statue in the world. There is a recreation area, restaurants, and souvenir shops occupy the base structure. From here, we use an elevator or walk to the head of the horse through chest and back neck of the horse, where we can have farseeing and good panorama view over the complex area. Afternoon we drive to Ulaanbaatar. Arrival in town and settling in at your hotel, where you can rest a few moments. Rest of the day free. With our guide, you can go and shop in the center of the city. Overnight in hotel. B/L/D

Day 15 Departure

Breakfast at the hotel. We go with you to the international airport of Ulaanbaatar. The transfer can be organized at the time you want, according to the schedule of your flight.

For your journey in Mongolia, it is possible joining a fixed departure tour with a group, which has the advantage of providing a friendly atmosphere and to let you benefit from the best price. Our groups are composed of an average of 3 to 12 participants.

We offering camel riding, horse trekking and hiking tour based on local community. Nomadic families live in the area are main parts of the tours. They will supply camels, horses, meals, and accommodation for tourists.
